Seniors Christmas Lunch

The 23rd Annual Rotary Kings Cross Seniors Christmas Lunch

Every year the Rotary Club of Kings Cross hosts Senior Citizens in the area to  enjoy Christmas Lunch. The nursing homes in the area are invited, along with the Kings Cross Community and Information Centre and others,  to the Rex Centre for lunch, Christmas carols and this year a special entertainment by Toni Lamond.

The Clubs members cook and serve a barbeque along with ham and salads and deserts to the Seniors, their carers and the Choir. As well drinks are served.

This Year Lord Mayor Clover Moor attended to welcome our guests as well as receive her honoury membership of the Rotary Club of Kings Cross.  Clover has been a supporter of the lunch for many years from when we moved it from outside in the Rotary Park due to Sydney weather.

Even Santa was there (PP David Mutoro) with PP Warwick

The City of Sydney provides buses  and drivers to pick up and return those in nursing homes, buses that are fitted with lifters to help those in wheelchairs.  The City also provides the venue, the Rex Centre for the 120 people that attend. St Canices Church Choir sings carols. This year we had veteran entertainer Toni Lamond who many will remember, to entertain us. Although she is not so mobile anymore she still packs a punch, singing and telling stories and the audience loved her.
